TREASURE HUNT CLUES: THE TALISMAN HAS BEEN DISCOVERED: THE TREASURE HUNT IS OVER. August 01, 2005: Now I turn away from the ocean and look back at the line of trees along the beach. Behind the trees I can see the white man's road that branches down from the highway that goes to the "Place of the Talking Wire". July 01, 2005: As I turned toward the ocean to look for that Seagull who was screaming so loud, I couldn't find him because the early morning sun blinded my eyes. June 01, 2005: As I stand there at the foot of that tree where I buried that lion, I can hear Seagull flying nearby screaming "Sand and Sea, Sand and Sea". 1. Annual door-to-door campaign for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. 2. Annual campaign raising funds for the Victoria Easter Seal House, and Camp Shawnigan for disabled children. 3. Annual 'Action Auction' raising funds for Lions projects in Port McNeill. 4. Ongoing 'Treasure Hunt'. Maps and a legend are sold for (CDN)$20.00. The object is to find a buried talisman (a wooden cut-out of a lion). The person finding the talisman wins a percentage of the money collected. All details are clearly spelled out on the map.
